Almost ten years ago, when I had my first house, I painted all the rooms different colors. I kept tearing out pictures from magazines that had good color in the photos and clustering them by how I reacted to them, and then winnowing them down to particular shades. My living room had two white walls and two deep, warm golden sunshine walls. The kitchen, which had western exposures (meaning it could get really hot there) was a very wet looking aqua. My bedroom was the most delicious serene celedon green-gray. If I’d had more rooms I would have painted the dining room with some yummy red. (There were some purple chairs.)

I’m in a rented apartment now and don’t want the hassle of having to paint it back to white when I’m gone. I’d probably pick slightly different shades now . . .

I really liked the yellow - the pictures on the wall looked great in relief and so did the windows. It was energizing. It was a warm, cozy, supportive yellow.

This is doevtailing into thoughts I've been having about the third chakra lately.

I think that's interesting that there's an "east/west" split in liking yellow. Does the "west" have more third chakra issues, culturally, historically? Seems plausible to categorize it that way.

In these times when so much of the collective attention is going to the messy, complicated, who-knows-why glory of fear and the giving away of personal power (chakra), I would love some help singing this realm's healed praises . . . so any of you gorgeous geniuses have delightful tales of empowered free will to share?
