I think, I did not explain it correctly. The astral body is a body. It
mirrors the physical to a certain extent, it has chakras. The astral body
is *sometimes* referred to as the etheric body. There are 4 energy bodies,
the astral one is the one used to travel the astral realms.
Each chakra is an eye into the dimensional universe it relates to. The
astral is the world of dreams, power games of good and evil, boundaries
etc. Like, how a physical wall won't stop a ghost but an energy barrier,
like a sacred circle will. Those are the rules of the astral dimension.
Astral, power chakra universe is the halfway place between the world of
time and space, physicality, and the nonduality worlds of the heart and
above. Etheric is a blueprint of the physical, but also contains that which
does not seem to exist in the physical, but still experiences/occupies
space and time. Ghosts, spirits, entities, etc. You can have an astral
entity occupying your heart chakra, that may be the location in your body
it resides because it wants your love... but if it was really seeing the
dimensional universe of the heart, then it would not be an entity. It could
not retain its separation. The chakras themselves are not physical like a
liver or brain, but they affect the physical.
Think of it as transparent film layers, like they use for anatomy
diagrams or painted cell animation. Take a pic of your body, then make 4
copies onto transparent film, and tint one yellow-gold (power chakra
colour), one red, one blue, etc... like how photographic images are split
into red, green, blue, black for colour lithograph printing.
The transparencies are layered each on another, but if you put all the
layers under a red light, only the red will reflect red. The other colours
will not be visible, they will appear black or not at all. The red will
show the whole body, but only one layer of colour.
Similarly the astral body is an energy body like the magnetic, etc...
it has all the chakras but it cannot exist in all the dimensional universes
of the chakras.
You standing on the beach, and you swimming in the water is still you...
but the rules change. You cannot swim in the earth, you cannot walk on the
water. The astral body can fly, can go anywhere in an instant... the
physical body cannot, unless you are ascended and have turned all your
matter into light... and the magnetic body is firmly attached to the physical.

Energy body, but it is the astral you are referring to, in this instance.

The back of the neck is where the soul or spirit enters and leaves the
body. Often those who cannot astral project have some kind of blockage
there. That is one function of the throat chakra, but the dimensional
universe of the throat is something else altogether... and cannot readily
be expressed, in words.

You do project from your 3rd chakra, everybody does. Any argument is a
3rd chakra tug of war for life energy. Chi. Everytime you express gratitude
to someone, it comes of the third chakra.
Ok, perhaps that does not make things clearer.. but read between the
lines and the Shakti will communicate the meaning. Or, try this experiement.
Your seed of consciousness, is a tiny bright spark of light. Ask to be
shown where it is, or simply imagine it, like a tiny star inside. Imagine
that star in each of the chakras in turn, and notice how it changes your
consciousness. When you are in the second chakra, you will be focused on
issues of relationships and emotions. Move it to the power chakra and your
thoughts will shift to issues of free will, divine will, hierarchies and
boundaries, fears and thoughts themselves. Move it to the heart, and you
will be focused on love, and lack of love. Where you think love is not.
Move it well above your head, and you will go into an emotionless state
that is expansive and intuitively sharp, but not judgmental of what is
seen. Stuff just Is.
You can tell where someone "lives", where their soul spark resides by
listening to what they are interested in. Someone who is wholly focused on
sex, lives in the second chakra. Someone who is into power games and social
status, mental activity lives in the power chakra. Mind you... like with
the entities, just because the spark lives there, does not mean they are
experiencing the whole of that chakra universe... the chakra itself may be
barely opened.
