Hi there,
I too started this huge purple binge about 3 years ago. I don't think
you will ever see as much purple velvet in anyone else's wardrobe.
It's almost obscene. And it's mostly all burgundy velvet.
~~ I was into all different shades of purple.. I even took a purple shirt right off someones back.. just had to have it !! Burgandy is good. But not lavender.
And shortly
thereafter, started a red binge. The significance of purple is that
it is primarily a 3rd eye color. It acts as a grounding color for
high-strung, psychically sensitive people and is also an energizer.
~~ Yes, I think it was the energy. Sexual energy especially.. for some reason it would tend to do that. I'm wearing my purple "power shorts" today.. lol.
However, too mcy meditating with purple can make you feel spaced out.
Certain shades of it are anesthetic. Whenever I do the grounding
excercise, I see the heart of Gaia as a bright shade of amethyst,
incidentally i have gobs of amethyst clusters around my house.
Amethyst is a transmuter of energy; no matter what kind of energy, be
it good or bad, amethyst will transmute it into radiance. Purple has
the same properties. Also, I find purple the granddaddy of all
meditation colors; you can use it on just about any chakra. Too much
3rd eye and crown meditation with purple causes headaches for me
though. I guess I already have an overactive 3rd eye and crown. I too
get a lot of headaches, not migraines but headaches. However, mine
may be caused my arthritis in my neck as well.
~~Interesting, this headache thing.. my sympathies. I have never had a problem with headaches. Even when I stopped drinking coffee cold turkey for almost a year... and everyone said I would get them.. didn't happen.
~~If you are still young enough to bear children.. your system is likely too acidic. If past that stage maybe into the menopause years.. its likely to alkaline. Find a way to balance the ph and I'd bet the headaches will go away. (Losta water helps.. from either direction )
Purple is good for
oversensitive individuals who just want to live in peace in a fantasy
world. Pink is good for this as well, btw.
~~Yeah, Fantasy World... (sigh).. thats me alright.
Moving on to strange new
color preferences.......I have always hated orange and yellow. Both
colors have always made me twitchy whenever I see to much of them.
But lately I have been attracted to orange things...I just bought
some carnelian and orange calcite and tiger's eye. And I've been
having no problem meditating with orange....in fact a snake appeared
in one of my meditations and showed me how to invoke electricity from
the sky into my womb chakra. Very good for energy.....I still can't
meditate with bright yellow but I can bring golde light from above
into my body.
~~ I don't mind blue and orange at all.. but I tend to pick them in the lighter shades. More to the pastels. Blue is always a safe color.. and goes well with more other colors than anything else. I have also always liked green. Verigated greens always appeal to me.. monochromatics.. for the greens.. like nature I guess.
Too much yellow would fry me up like Icarus....i am 2nd
and 3rd chakra deficient. Anyway.....purple just rocks and I would
love to have my walls covered in amethyst cluster....too bad amethyst
gives my SO headaches!
~~Never cared much for yellow either... Although I read somewhere recently that the yellow vegetables are good brain food, good for the intellect. Maybe you should try eating more, yellow stuff.. might help with the headache thing??
~~ But for wardrobe yellow is kinda my last choice. (Although I like it on women) Beige and browns ok.. but I don't mind yellow with grey... yellow and purple make the nicest grey btw. A colorist told me one time not to wear grey.. it makes me look dead.. lol.. but i do anyway.. and I like it.
~~Mix any two compliments across the color wheel and you get grey.. but yellow and purple will be the most "handsome" imo.
~~Its always been a curiostity to me.. I live in the desert.. and it seems like the more arid it is.. the more the wild flowers tend to be yellow. Has to be a reason for that.. don't you think? jlb
