I think I see what you are asking. Your drawing the line of demarcation
between who they are and what they said. In the case of Babaji, his title is
the clue: Mahavatar, which means "Highest Symbol" (roughly). He is an
archetype. What most spiritual seekers would be striving for--Immortal,
infinitely wise and kind.(Though obviously a difficult task-master) Nothing
worthwhile is ever easy.
Yukteswar and Yogananda are steps along the way, like road signs that you are
on the correct path.
It really doesn't matter who they are, what they look like. If you see
reincarnation as an enescapeable fate then whats one body or another between
friends?:^) It's what they represent to us that makes them "attractive".
Its why we try to emulate them. even though we never met. The source of all
ideas is the same place. Some folks just choose particular incarnations to
voice these ideas...or perhaps the incarnations are "chosen for them".
