I don't know about bad luck, but I think it is funny sometimes the
things that happen when I do not pay attention to the nudgings of
syncronicity.
Last week I recommended my bank to someone, she mentioned a deposit
rule, which reminded me that I had not compleated paperwork with my
bank. My partner has been depositing his checks into my account for
10 years, he lost his social security card, without it he couldn't
open an account of his own we have never done anything to correct it,
they let him deposit into my account, but they needed the card too it
was supposed to be done, like right away, but nothing has been done
about it since, by us or the bank. I wondered, should I check into
that? I let it go.
That same afternoon my apartment manager made a joke about evicting
me as a means to get my partner to get his social security card
replaced, it is needed for the lease. We laughed at the managers joke
about eviction.
but I noted the sycronicity, even thought for a second that maybe we
should DO something. but I let it go.
Over the weekend the TV was yacking in the background and I caught
the tail end of something about social security.
I noted the syncronicity and the thought went quickly through my head
that I should call my bank. but again I let it go..
Yesterday my manager knocked on the door, my rent check bounced. I
asked him in for a cup of coffee while I called my bank. He made a
joke about his earlier joke threatening eviction.
At that moment I was reminded of the syncronicities, but they were
really driven home when the lady at the bank informed me that my
partners check was being returned because they don't have a valid
signature card for him because he has yet to give them a copy of his
social security card.
Well, Blow me Down!!!
I am pleased at how patient the universe has been with us. ten years
is severe procrastination! I am tickled with the universe for its
gentle hints to warn me my time was up, I really was getting the
message, I saw the syncronicities, I even thought about acting on
them. I ignored them, my choice.
It was a good kick in the rear, not terribly painful, but rewarding.
My partner should have his card in a few days, he will be able then
to have his own account, fianally.
*As* if getting our buisness taken care of wasn't enough reward the
universe threw in a bonus, my manager made note while he was here
that I could use new carpeting, he called me today to tell me it will
be installed next Monday. At first I felt a little guilty about
having to drag my manager and the bank and the social security into
it. but then, it occured to me this may have been a group butt
kickin'? I have been telling my manager for a year and a half that I
need new carpet, the bank has been lax for 10 years (that cant be
good), my partner lost his card 12 years ago. Everybody got a
spankin' but I got new carpet too : )
