My dermatologist was positive it was shingles (my right side, front and
back, beautiful pattern). But it was doing strange things. Like clearing
up over night, the reappearing the next morning. My whole right side was
numb too. (that still is here).

There is a blood test that can be done, only it's not 100% accurate.
(mine was negative). What is accurate, is taking a test from the sores.
Mine cleared up just about then....
