The experience of "feeling" other people's emotions, or at least an acute of awareness of this phenomenon happened to me just last week. It was an amazing experience, and at first it didn't hit me that it was beyond anything I'd acknowledged to myself before. I was at an intersection in Santa Fe and looked at a man on a bicycle riding thru -- he was happy, satisfied and he FELT GOOD! All of a sudden I thought, "Hey HOW do I know this?" I realized that it wasn't an active thing and I'd been perceiving other feelings and emotions all along; however, I suppose it's an ability that's growing stronger.

I'm very sorry to read you had to go through the non-belief from other people to the point of going into an institution. No, you're not alone with your perception of "projections."

I was able to see the emotions from peoples faces over 100 metres
away from me. I could literally read the emotions and thoughts
through people's faces. Two seperate patients in the hospital feared
to go near me for several days because they believed I could read
their mind.
