The one and only book I've read on Kundalini would be dealing with
this. You prob already know it. Gopi Krishna's "Kundalini", his auto
biography that deals with his awakening. Chp 3 deals with a burning
heat located on one of the sides of the body around the place that
you mention. He dealt with it by using the other side's
equivelent -pingala-inga- or something like that... duality m/f
hot cold.

 This is all got out of a book
