The discussion on the hierarchy of kundalini books was good.
I thought I can add to the listing. The book is 'Merging with Siva'.
This is by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniya Swami.
He was the Spiritual Master of Kauai Monastery, Kauai, Hawaii, USA.
A very extraordinary text on Kundalini by a Master of complete Self-Realisation.
However, He insists on Hindu Saivism and devotion to the Lineage of Hindu Saivaite Spiritual Masters.
Nevertheless, one can buy the book through the website 'www.gurudeva.org'.
As for my own experience and understanding, I came to know the working of God's Force
and actually the Reality and Presence and Working of God
simultaneously with the awakening of the serpent energy.
Sort of too much, to learn and manage all of a sudden about 17 years ago.
However, it is my feeling that kundalini is the common thread that can validly link all religions.
There was also a query on meditation related to the solar plexus, heart and throat chakras.
I feel there is something that has to go on all the time alongwith meditation pertaining to different chakras.
That is, this merging of the spiritual nerves of emotion (Ida) and reasoned thinking (Pingala)
into the balancing spinal spiritual passage (Sushumna). Let us leave aside these Hindu terminologies.
But, I have actually found that repeating the words 'Aum',
to bring about this balancing quite quickly and effectively just before any meditative exercise.
In fact, I do this before going out of home for any work, official or domestic.
So, the corresponding words in Christianity and Islam which are 'Amen' and 'Ameen'
should also have the same effect. Someone must try and share their experience.
Incidentally, this merging at the central passage has to be supplemented in daily life
by practising central tendency. That is, trying to be just and equal to one and all.
Not acting from attachment to one's relatives and friends and so on..
Of course, this is the same as 'Loving our neighbour as we love ourselves' taught by Lord Jesus
as the very essence of all the Commandments of God. And, it is also the same as
the golden mean which is the very essence of Islam and the Teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammad.
And, as for meditation of the solar plexus chakra, there is something very basic to this chakra,
which may be better be understood at the very beginning. This is the chakra that simultaneously
keeps us worldly and spiritual. It has two petals, one facing downward and another upward.
The downward one keeps us locked in lower tendencies. And, enmeshed in the group mind of mankind.
This is also the chakra of Will. So, we must progressively release us from subjection to the group.
Thus, the Will becomes entirely focussed on upward spiritual pursuits. This is best done by developing
a strong sense of discrimination and instantly translating the outcome of discrimination into action,
without allowing the lower tendencies of fear, etc. to intervene. Of course, this is nothing but the
righteous life commanded by Lord Jesus and Willing Surrender and Obedience to the Commands of Allah
propounded by Holy Prophet Mohammad.
Only when all these 3 pre-conditions are lived through for a good length of time, the meditation of different
chakras will have good and substantial impact. For this, a good association is very necessary.
I will share some further ideas of my actual understanding and practice, a little later. In the meantime,
members may contribute and throw greater light on the same.
