When all is said and done, I think that's the most we
can hope for. If miracle working and great novel
writing happens to come with it, that's fine too.

What we tend to take for granted is that while we're
dodging oncoming trees and paying the bills, we're
pretty ok with it. We seem to become practical people
in spite of ourselves. Intuitiveness more than discipline
steers the boat after our wake up call.

At least that seems to have been the case with some
(or most?) of us.

PS. The poll... I'm loving this world, but
