I thought the topmost link in particular was interesting. Before reading,
the notion I held was this: The breath was the gateway to the no-mind. In
truth the breath holds the link between thought and awareness. Yet as the
page describes, as breathing must resume so must thought.
If that is true then samadhi is a state of mind in which one enters and thus
must exit from. Is this accurate, or is samadhi a state of being.
In contemplation of zen paradoxical inquiries, the mind collects and becomes
focused, as opposed to meditation of abstract symbolism or concepts. Through
this control over the mind becomes increasingly coherant, instead of hushing
it.
taken very roughly from the wanderling's pages above; " and if the cart
would not move, would you whip the cart or the ox?"
I'm wondering what the difference is. If you control the mind through
focusing all uncoherant awareness into a 'single-pointedness' like removing
the gem that splits the light into a rainbow, or if you control the mind by
hushing it and letting it flow silently to recieve answers... either way it
seems like the same thing. Ack what differenciates between the two!?
There are wiser then I on the K-List. Feel free to share with me. :)
