Subject: [K-list] masculine<>feminine
From: Shellelr
On 2002/07/04 06:30, Shellelr posted thus to the K-list: A few years ago when I first became ill with the chronic fatigue mystery
energy illness that eventually became the beginnings of spiritual awakening,
I started reading romance novels again for the first time since I was a
teenager. I must have read 100 or so over the past few years. I know that
it was partly that I needed distraction from the stress and confusion of
being ill, and also I went through a very strong sexual thing that kept me
interested in the books. I also was particularly interested in certain
historical time periods that some of the stories were set in. But I do think
that in some way I've been trying to work some masculine/feminine thing out
and that keeps drawing me back to them. It's confounding, because I have
always been a bit of a literary snob and in some ways feel embarrassed to be
reading this genre so much! (though I must say that I've found a handful of
authors who are truly very gifted and bring much more than the basics to
their novels.)
Anyone have a similar experience or thoughts to share?
