This came to me off list and since I don't like to reply to people I don't
know well enough off list (personal experiences LOL) I decided to reply on
the list. (name is withheld)
Well, I guess it depends on your definition of Kundalini and religion! :))

All I know is when K first hit me, I felt what I was experiencing was at the
core of all religious experience. I found similar descriptions in many
religious texts and felt I now understood what religious figures throughout
history had experienced in their so-called union with god--rapture, bliss,
voices, etc.

I grew up athiest/agnostic. I still consider myself agnostic.

I'm curious. Why do you feel Kundalini has nothing to do with religion?

Kundalini is the yogic life force that is held to lie coiled at the base of
the spine until it is aroused and sent to the head to trigger enlightenment.
It is not fun...It is not a game
IMO I feel Kundalini has everything to do with spirit but not a religion.
You can have a religion believing in kundalini but it has
nothing to do with religion.
