There are beings who do that. Don't know they have to in order to exist, but
they do it. I thought because it was easier and "tastier." I've never been
told by the person I know who deals with them most often that they are from
any particular planet, star system, or galaxy. I've always called them
demons. He's labeled different ones as demons, energy vampires, wood
sprites, etc.
If they stay long enough they get "dug in" to you and their personality
becomes a part of yours. Some child molesters are doing it because of these
beings. They can't actually "make" you do something, at best their control
is usually at the level of an addiction in a waking person. An alcoholic can
refuse to drink, they just want to drink a lot of the time. Now in your
sleep.... different story. But those cases are extremely rare and the
creature isn't usually going for the shame and emotion of molesting, but for
the simple orgasm. So a person might have a wet dream an hour after having
sex.

Discussion and negotiation is always the first start in getting rid of them.
It is amazing how often it works. Thank God, because some of them are
extremely powerful and most humans, still in the body, don't have enough
juice to begin to "kick their butts" regardless of the person's path,
training, or background.
If it happens again, or anything like it, and it doesn't leave as easily as
this one did and you have to negotiate there are a few rules of thumb to
remember.
1) Words matter! The exact meaning of the words is what will and must be
done. It will do what it says under the conditions it agrees to almost
without fail, in all but the rarest of cases. So the worst of them have
better morals in this area than almost all people I know. So if it promises
to leave under certain conditions, get those conditions clearly understood.
2) Words better matter to you! Don't lie to it. It can read your mind, so
you really can't. Make your position clear and keep your word.
3) Show it respect. In its world and with its value system it may be doing
nothing wrong. We eat meat. It may view humans as no higher than chickens or
cows. So act like you are dealing with a decent being, even if you are
certain you are not.
4) Don't completely trust it. Always analyze any and everything it says and
consider what might be true or not and that it may be testing you. They
usually do keep their word, but not always. And it may get tricky with its
wording too.
5) Don't tell it what it can and can't do when it leaves. Jesus cast out
demons and let them move on to different animals. I'm not a Christian but I
don't think I'm superior to Christ. I would advise everyone else to accept
that they probably aren't either and not try to do him one better.

Reasonable assumption. If it doesn't "feel right" it probably isn't.

Other than the above not much more to add. I've worked with these things
myself a few times, trying to help other people mostly but I did have a
spirit being try to kill me. I got her to stop that and had someone else
kick her out of my body.
I have a teacher who's worked with them fairly often. He's explained a good
bit about them to a few of his students.
The big thing is intent. Foremost on the part of the person with the being
and anyone trying to help rid them of it. I've had demons agree to leave
women who were in abusive situations or with major problems of long
standing, on the condition the women do one act (not an amazing one either,
a very simple act) to show their independence and desire for freedom.
Neither did anything. The demons stayed.
So don't have shakey intent. If you'd been carrying around a lot of feelings
about wondering what it would be like to share your body for a while, or
maybe you could work with this being to increase your powers, anything that
would have made you of two minds on the subject, you'd still have your
"friend" attached to you.
