Fire Serpent Tantra Kundalini Mystery School: lesson #41. The Mirror Game.
Video transcript.
This is a Third Eye exercise, designed to open the Third Eye, and have an
opportunity to give love to the aspects of yourself that are the Cosmic
Collective. I call this exercise "The Mirror Game". And it's fun to do
solo, and it's also fun to do it with other people. Because as you do this
game, you will become unified, and you will actually start seeing the same
things. But anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself.
What I want you to do, is by the light of a single candle that's placed
somewhere behind you or off to one side, in a very dark room, gaze into a
mirror. Look into your own eyes, or you can look at your third eye, which
is at the forehead right here [pointing between the eyebrows]. Now because
of the light being very dim, you'll find that your eyes keep going out of
focus. Let them.
When your eyes go out of focus, your Third Eye will kick in, and it will
start to show you other faces. Other aspects of yourself, past lives, faces
from the collective, all kinds of faces. Some of them may be faces of old
Gods, like Hecate or Thor. Some of them may be your Divine Beloved showing
up to say hello.
Some of the faces will probably be very scary looking. Now this is to
challenge you to give unconditional love to All That Is. So don't get
scared of the faces you see, no matter how horrific they are. Just pretend
you're Stephen King, and you're looking for material for a good novel. As
long as you stay grounded, the faces won't scare you. So it's very
important to do this exercise when you're grounded.
Now again, it's very simple. A completely dark room, a mirror. Q bathroom
mirror, if you can sit comfortably in front of it, or you can do it
standing. One candle, not in front of you, but behind you or off to the
side somewhere. The room should be dim enough so that you can just barely
make out your features. You can just barely see yourself as your eyes
adjust to the light.
Now, as you know, in the twilight, when it's dim, it's very easy for your
eyes to play tricks on you and that's what we want. We want tricks.
So the meditation and visualization is very simple. Set the candle down, be
grounded, relax, and stare into the mirror, either looking at yourself in
the eyes, or focusing on this spot on your forehead. And I've also focused
on my nose or my mouth, but usually I look right here [pointing at her
forehead]. When your eyes go out of focus, don't try to blink to clear
them, let them go out of focus, but keep looking.
Now what you'll find quite often with people who are just doing this for
the first time, is that the faces will actually flash by so quickly that
you can't see them completely.
If you focus on your Divine Beloved, it may show up so clearly that you can
almost talk to it. Which is a very interesting experience, seeing the
opposite gender version of yourself in your bathroom mirror. Let your eyes
go out of focus, and just give unconditional love to all of these reflected
images, and all the faces that come up. No matter how scary they may look,
they can't hurt you. They're just showing up so you can love them.
By loving them, you reduce the separation and integrate them in as part of
yourself. Not in a bad way, simply in a way that we are taking the separate
ego-mind, and we are bringing it down through the levels of the
unconscious. And at different levels of the unconscious, the past lives,
and the archetypes, and the collective faces are available as information.
And as you move down through the collective, there will be more and more
faces. And then finally, as you get closer to Unity, there will be fewer
faces. They'll gradually reduce until you may see the same half dozen faces
coming up again and again. Where before, you were seeing a thousand faces
in an hour, or even more.
This is perfectly normal. It's a good way to open and work on your Third
Eye. All I have to caution you against is to be very grounded, and not to
be afraid of what you see.
That is the challenge, to give unconditional love to All That IS, and
accept it. The faces can't hurt you, but they're neat, they're fun to
watch. Enjoy it! Blessings...
Essay lesson fragment:
The Mirror game is an interesting phenomena. It has it's uses as a way to
improve your third eye and integrate the collective, but please don't take
what you see, too seriously. I think of it, more as a "Kundalini party
trick" and it's not unusual for me to sit in front of a dim mirror with
visitors, playing the game out of sheer fun and curiosity. I have been
playing with it for years, but these days I don't get many faces, I just
vanish.
I had some funny thoughts about Vampires, the first time my reflection
vanished and I could see the wall behind my head. Since then many people
have seen it, and the effect is contagious. Sometimes I turn into their
Divine Beloved and they vanish. Tantric unity, we are becoming reflections
of the Divinity in each other. I am dedicated to the Void. Being nothing.
I have had some faces tho, that were of various spirit guides, and these
would stay steady enough sometimes to have a conversation with.
Most commonly I saw the shadow side of my Divine Beloved, whom I call
"Armand"... but there was a period when a Grey Alien was the most
persistent and steady face. I showed it to many people, and could always
tell when they saw it by the look on their face because it was very
disturbing to see. I associate it with the emotionlessness of the Witness
state, and learned to see beauty in dove grey skin and endless black eyes.
In an infinite universe, anything that can exist, must exist, somewhere and
somewhen.. in some dimension in the "twilight zone". So on that basis Grey
aliens are real, and so is Peter Pan. When the barrier of separation that
is ego begins to break down there is greater freedom to go surfing the
astral planes to see these alternate realities.
Conventional Eastern Yogis consider this unwise because they look at it as
a distraction along the path.
However, conventional Eastern Yogis also grow up in a culture where nearly
naked Holy men wandering the streets performing small miracles is normal.
Most Westerners don't have that experience, and so we tend to feel more
isolated in our experiences. I find it is motivating to cherish the "party
tricks" and small perks along the path.
So, explore the faces in the mirror as a way to integrate your
multidimensional Self. Be respectful of the faces, and give them love, but
keep your giggle button handy and don't take any of it too seriously. Don't
get attached to any of them, simply let them flow through you and surrender
to watching them go by.
Some people find the mirror game rather disturbing. If it upsets you, then
don't do it, because detachment is important. This lesson is a game.
Playing the mirror game is optional, not essential to this course. If you
don't want to play, then go onto the next lesson.
