Hi!
Your memory of the frightening dream reminds me of a little excercise I have sometimes done.
When I am relaxed and with someone I trust, it could be in a coffee shop, or in bed, or just sitting at the kitchen table, (the person is usually talking or perhaps one in a group of people doing a meditation exercise) I gaze at the spot between their eyes, or perhaps just a bit above that and allow my eyes to go out of focus and watch what happens to their face. I usually do this because I want to see more of them than meets the physical eye. And the gaze is similar to a 'view the aura' gaze (at least for me). I relax and watch. This puts you into a witnessing state where you can see the many faces without fear.
