REMEMBRANCES OF SHADOWS

a flicker of light
a flash of flame
burning a candle
whilst recalling a name.

existing in the emptiness
from which all grows,
the ebb and the tide,
everything flows.

remembrances of shadows
the unshed tear
a glint in the eye
ushers in the fear.

the memories are the past
the here is now
feelings need not last
they're now, and then,
again, now.

day cannot exist without night
a rainbow without rain
shadows without light
but memories can without pain.

breathe out, breathe in
deep into that space
where the knowing is profound
and everyone has a place.

living to love
loving to live
loving is forgiving
ourselves as we judge.

shadows of remembrances
dark night of the soul,
forever a part which does make one whole.
