From: lionessbleu1
On 2002/05/28 12:10, lionessbleu1 posted thus to the K-list: Enlightenment took me by surprise...I wasn't looking for it and
wouldn't have known what it was if it was staring me straight in the
face. I still don't think I would know unless I look at someone's
life...I have to look and see if there is behavior expressed that
might point to an enlightened person. Even then that is suspect.
I don't know if enlightenment makes life easier...just a different
set of problems. I must say I like the problems I experience now
rather than earlier in my life.
I am happy and joy runs in a permanent flow through me. My life is
not perfect but hey...who cares? :D not me.
How did enlightenment surprise me? What was I doing? I was looking
for god in the presence of everything and all things. Then I began to
honor this presence I saw and experienced....and oops...then more and
more light began to spill into my life. That is the Namaste principle.
Kundalini is not necessary for this but it sure does accelerate the
process....makes one more sensitive and aware of ourselves and of the
world around us IMHO.
This enlightenment thread pops up quite a bit on this list. Smarter
people than me have discussed it here.
What I can tell you is that enlightenment does not mean you can sit
on the couch and say..."I have arrived!" ... and look for the remote
control. :D Well, you can if you want to but that doesn't pay the
rent. It is an elementary, beginning step in a long journey that is
continually being revealed.
Enlightenment itself is really not the goal. It is what happens on
the way during the journey of your soul back home. Just one of the
attractions on the roadway. A little detour...a worthwhile detour but
still a detour. It is really not all that important in the context of
the journey. You can get where you are heading without it.
So don't bother trying to become enlightened...it may just happen as
you begin the process of remembering who you are...the Self, the I
AM, or whatever is in current vogue in metaphysical circles these
days.
Determine to live with you heart wide open regardless of
circumstances and love yourself, others, and this world as if there
is no tomorrow.
That might throw you unceremoniously into something like
enlightenment quicker than anything.
