My take on it is that you are, in your open and
receptive state, picking up on energies in the
surrounding collective consciousness, like picking up
on a radio transmission, except it is someone else's
thoughts and feelings, or multiple peoples' shared
thoughts and feelings. Meditating can clear our minds
and senses so much that we start picking up on other
stuff, previously covered up by the "static" in our
daily lives.
I hope this helps, or gives food for thought. It's
good that you ask questions and consider multiple
ideas. As for me, I haven't had feelings of fear
while in meditation - perhaps it was your personal
response to what you were picking up on? (if this
explanation/possibility rings true)
Take care Katie, and take things slow -
With peace and thinking of you,
Vince
