It really has nothing to do with chakras, though in some ways
it does.
The mind is what generates the perceptions, how your ego clings
to
them is a result of attachments.

From birth conditioning fuctions along side instict, and always
work
together changing each other.

Chakra's have different fuctionings wiht regards to reception
and
projection and work with sensory perceptions.

When conditioning develops a "virus" (something that grinds
with the
natural flow of contentment, peacefulness, joy, happiness, etc)
the
perpetuation, due to ignorance (a lack of cognition of
suffering),
create the cycle and instincts change to cater to why the ego
strives
for.

Of coarse some layers of conditioning are thick, and also
depend on
age, lenght of conditioned patterns and levels of
understanding.
Which, hopefully lead to the untangling of the knots that bind
us.

Good question!
Thru my experience the road to self realization, isn't what you
first
expect it to be. If you are looking for self realization, then
who
else is going to let you see you?

now you asked how?
well, what is the I that that wishes to be connect to the me?
What does the I see of the me?
what does the me see of the I?
where is this I that sees me?
