There are powerful chakras in the soles of the feet, some of the most
powerful in the body. In the chinese system they are associated with
the K2 or kidney point in the ball of the foot. The Hindu system puts
it adjacent to the big toe.

This is often why you see pictures of students bowing before their
gurus. It is to receive Shakti Kundalini from their teacher. The
shoes of the guru are considered to be sacred and filled with Shakti,
enough Shakti to cause a trasmission of energy even years after the
guru has died.

In other systems the K2 point if struck in the appropriate way can
either kill someone or bring them back to life.

Energy can be pulled up through these chakras and into the body. Try
standing outside on the earth and visualize these chakras opening.
Then visualize the energy from the heart of the earth rising up to
enter into you thru the balls of your feet. You might get a nice buzz.

Conversely, if you are overamped with energy you can reverse the flow
and send the energy back down into the earth.
