Uhhh,

(Jason ducks behind a wall as stone whizzes by) Whishew! Wow, that was a
mouthful. :^) It's good to let the anger out. Keep blasting away.
Everyone (even your family) is on their own path whether they know it or not.
Rather than give advice here, let me just make an example of my own similar
situation.

 I have to deal with some very materialistic in-laws so I try to be as
accepting of them as I want them to be of me. If things come to a boil, I
have to stand my ground firmly. They can be as shallowly materialistic as
they like, but they will not change the way I think or act. It does not have
to be done rudely, just a firm stand on my part will do the trick. They
don't have to like my views, but they will accept them willingly or
unwillingly. And afterward, we each go our merry ways. I realize you have
children that complicate your equation.

In the meantime, talk to us. The world is changing, more people are
becoming aware every day. Materialism is starting to have a bad name.
Realize this is the path appointed to you and all those who would blaze a new
trail across our culture.
You are a light, don't hide under a basket. Responding with love is becoming
the new paradigm. It has to start somewhere.
