Hi there,

I can speak from experience on the piercing thing, but not the exact
piercing you describe. My tongue and nipples are pierced, and they still
date as the most freeing action I've taken so far. For me, I had this
intense fear of needles, blood, and general bodily harm although the first
two were big ones for me. Something clicked with me when I actually PAID
someone to take a giant needle to my body. All of a sudden it wasn't that
scary. My gut tells me that *who* does it and why it is done is more
important than placement. I can't tell you anything about piercings done as
a fashion statement; none of my piercings are that and I don't flaunt them.
They were done for *me*. A right of passage of sorts to deal with fear.

The nipple piercings, when the rings have the right stones in themm feels
like nothing more than a semi-permanent crystal session. For a long while I
was in love with the plain hematite. I just felt better connected, freer
flowing, and the energy didn't lock up like it does sometimes. My tongue is
still sporting the stainless steel piercing bar. I had it pierced well over
a year ago but the piercing fell out and the hole closed within 30 minutes.
Apparently I had more mouth fears than I thought. I got it re-pierced in
January and just haven't found what I would be happy to replace it with.

A little story on the tongue stud...I had a friend come over to my house
(miss busy body...lol) and tell me that I must be a really relaxed person. I
asked why because I was completely dumbfounded...I am not a relaxed person
tho I am working on it. She said my pens were all unchewed...a very good
sign! lol I play with the tongue stud instead of the pens; but still a good
laugh. :)
