On 2002/05/05 17:17, Lbra782595 posted thus to the K-list: Welcome Kaleb,
I can understand your perspective. My own K experiences can be very elusive
sometimes. These are the practices I use to stimulate a K response: The
study of Kriya yoga (Not really yoga in an excercise sense but rather a
meditation techique); martial arts, specifically T'ai Chi and Shaolin Kung
Fu; Chinese yoga or qigong also known as Chi Kung or Nei Kung. Occasionally
I will fast for 3-4 days if I have the time and go without sleep for 24-36
hours before meditation. Pranayama breathing is the final catalyst for my K
experiences.
My diet is generally vegetarian though I do occasionally eat beef, chicken,
lamb fish, and pork. I am currently trying to eliminate milk products from
my diet, I think they are interfering with my ability to breathe properly.
I find that alcohol is a definate detriment to any K activity, although some
people have the opposite view. Tobacco and other stimulants also decrease
the intensity of my experience, but again some people take the contrary
viewpoint.
I hope this info gives you some direction. If not, then just trust your
intuition to guide you. K itself will be your greatest teacher if your allow
it. Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your bliss". This is wonderful advice.
And of course,
Love in each moment,
Jason B
