Subject: [K-list] weight gain
From: Shellelr
On 2002/04/21 19:03, Shellelr posted thus to the K-list: Please advise, anyone:
Since my k onset three years ago I've put on about 15 pounds. I went through
a period of such fatigue that exercise was impossible. My thyroid levels on
bloodtests were borderline hypothyroid. I'm better now, I exercise fairly
regularly (walking and yoga), thyroid levels have returned to closer to
normal, but I cannot seem to budge the weight gain.
I spent my 20s pursuing an acting career in LA and NY and was stereotypically
weight-obsessed and managed to lose weight and stay quite slim. I no longer
wish to participate in that kind of mindset or be as thin as I was then (I'd
have to lose 35 lbs!), but I would love to not feel quite so thick as I head
into my 40s! Just 10 or 15 lbs. lighter would feel great.
Another problem is I can't see doing weight-watchers type dieting, because I
have a fairly narrow list of things I can eat that don't make me feel
terrible.
So, any suggestions or similar stories with a happy ending would be most
welcome.
love,
Shelle
