Subject: [K-list] More on Neck Blockages
From: Lbra782595
On 2002/04/18 04:32, Lbra782595 posted thus to the K-list: Greetings All,
Another thing I have found useful is exactly what you had mentioned. I was a
T'ai Chi instructor for a couple of years and the "lifting the head" you
describe is almost exactly what is done in T'ai Chi. (Proper T'ai Chi has a
lot to do with posture.) We call it "head suspended". Imagine a wire going
striaght up from the top of the head directly above the spine. The wire is
pulling your head strait up. The back of the head lifts and the chin tucks
in slightly. Don't let the neck bend forward though, keep looking straight
ahead You should feel the stretching in your upper back some as well. This
is also one of the "Three Locks" described in kundalini yoga used to allow
the the K to rise.
Hope this helps,
Jason B
