On 2002/04/05 22:37, Lbra782595 posted thus to the K-list: Hello Lillian,
Course in Miracles is a long and drawn out book that tries to explain in as
many words as humanly imaginable exactly what Mystress posted to the person
dealing with alien abduction. We create our universe. The people around us
are energies that we must deal with in an accepting manner and in only that
way can we "save" ourselves. "Love your neighbor for he is you".
The workbook takes this idea from the opposite end: That there is nothing to
begin with. Nothing has any meaning except what we give it. If we practice
giving it no meaning, thats the halfway point to giving it another meaning.
If we can't accept our neighbor as ourself, then first practice thinking that
your neighbor has no meaning at all, nor the teacup on the table nor the vase
of flowers. Then when the state of meaninglessnes is realized then we free
to assign the things a new meaning....which is that they are projections of
ourselves.
Zen thinking.......sort of.
If you can plow through it, there is a lot of good information in this book,
but you really MUST enjoy reading to even get through the first chapter.
Sincerely,
Jason
