Subject: [K-list] racing mind
Hi Bryan had a similar problem ten years ago.
I asked my Hypnotherapy tutor Stephen how I could stop this as it was beyond
funny.
He looked me straight in the eye and said. Stop talking to yourself. and
walked off.
First I was annoyed but then I began to think about what he had said. I had
great respect for his abilities and knew that he was not being ackward.
Later he came back and asked me.
Well what has come to mind?
I replied
Well its as though there are two of me in my head having a discussion
argument whatever.
Then he asked
Do you have control over one of your voices?
I said probably.
He then said well stop talking to yourself and smiled.
Basically that night when I lay in bed the conversation started as normal.
Along the lines of now remember you have to do such and such. What do you
think Stephen meant? You should have done x y & Z.
Basically I found that if I did not engage in conversattion with myself, the
other voice, me gave up after a time and there was realative silence.
It got easier and easier.
Aside from that I eventually, (some years later) started doing Mantra both
written and chanted and that helped to disolve the ego a bit. This has
brought about a deeper silence.
Following on from that I recently got the book Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
which is brilliant. I also went to see him in London on Monday this week and
have to say I have never seen so much love coming from any human being.
This is his web site url
www.eckharttolle.com
Hope this helps
Chris

I am doing a counting / breathing exercise -- I will start counting and as I
get into it -- I'll get the count going and before I know it I will be
counting and another part of my brain will be off doing analytical
analyses.Need to slow it. HELP.
