Sacrifice means losing something that you otherwise would have had. I've
been very lucky in that any sacrifice I've made has been more than
outweighed by the love, pleasure and fun from being part of a nuclear family
(with my two children) and an extended family (with my second wife's 3 kids)
we were collectively known as 'Gary, Maggi and the Mob' LOL

From a fathers point of view, I'm trying to get my kids (a boy aged 16, a
girl aged 12) to understand that although I love them dearly they must also
stand up for themselves in this world. I think they both understand that if
they ever have a problem, I'll be there to sort it out, and then afterwards
look at how they got into the problem in the first place.

But, chaging the subject somewhat, we have some interesting conversations
about past lives, Chakra's, alternative healing (including Kate's bugbear
Crystal Healing), with all the books around the house on what many families
wouild think of as 'strange', they should at least grow up to have a broad
outlook on life! ! I've even had my son telling me he thinks he may have
been a 'Leader' of some counttry in a past life, and according to some
Kinesiolgy that we've done He, I and my second wife have had many
intertwined lives, in excess of 300
