I will take a quick gander at this question. Being a
geneticist, during development different genes turn on
at different times. What ultimately controls which
genes turn on when? Of course scientists always look
for the "scientific" explanation and say hormones and
things like that. On the news recently there has been
a lot of talk of the cloned kitten. They say an exact
clone of the original... but it's a different color.
Genes were turned on at different times than in the
original during development. If it's an exact clone
then the genes should have been activated in the same
order and way as the original but they weren't.
Something else played a part in the development of the
cat. Was it spirit?

I believe that if/when they start cloning humans (if
they haven't secretly done already), the results will
be much like the kitten. (Though I still hold out
hope that this cloning will not happen.) The person
will appear to have the exact DNA but probably look
different. Identical twins are an exception to this.
They often have a bond that scientists don't
understand. Perhaps if someone cloned me or you they
would be identical and share that same bond that twins
share. Or perhaps they would be like the kitten and
be different. This is one question that unfortunately
will probably be answered in the future.
