Subject: [K-list] Being or consciousness?

It's really fascinating the different ways people perceive 'God' - either as consciousness or being if I can make a crass generalisation.

I've just had a thought which seems to click with me. Maybe the way we perceive 'God' is a reflection of how we perceive ourselves (or are perceived .... ??) Eg 'God' for me is 'being' - my experience has been very much that of an awesome loving, 'personal' intelligence/power both within me and way beyond me, that has my life mapped out in advance for me and I just have to let go and trust it even (especially) when it puts me through heavy duty shit ...

.... but then it's important for me to 'be'. The last thing I want to do is lose my individuality and merge into universal consciousness or whatever you want to call it. Maybe those who hanker after that are more advanced. For me I have things I need to do in this life as 'me', for which I need - well, an ego, though hopefully not too inflated.

So maybe it's a question of where we're at as individuals - a kind of mirroring effect.
