Hello,

I'm going through a similar thing with my girlfriend.
Sometimes I feel like I'm being ground between two
stones and don't know how much more I can take.

I love her, but her insecure baggage is bouncing
all over the place.... It's too heavy for me and
I can't pay the freight on it anymore.

We live together, so it's not like I can just brush
it off and not see her. She comes home ready to
shoot venom at the first target she sees and my
impulse is to run for the back door..... but my
doing that causes even more discord. So I sit
down with her and try to reason, but she finds a
negative angle on anything and everything I say.
In the end I feel physically wrung out and beaten
down. All my spirituality doesn't seem to help.

The best thing I found is to get away (tactfully)
and go to place were you can get a simple,
unconditional hug. At the book shop down the
street they are given away with no strings attached.
There's a lot of other free antidotes for domestic
woes, but the above is the simplest I can think of
now (given that you are fortunate enough to have
such friends).
