Subject: [K-list] Supplement to the Psychedelic Experience

To any of you who've read Timothy Leary's "Psychedelic Experience: A
Manual Based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead," I personally thought that
the instructions for the fourth method of preventing re-entry could be
revamped and go to better use, and that the psychedelic state would be an
excellent oppurtunity to explore "Mu." I thought I'd share my appendix
here, in case anybody else felt that Mu should be better represented.

Method Five: Meditation on the Voidless Void

O (name of voyager),
What is the sound of one hand clapping?
It is screaming silence.
It is far away,
But it is very near as well.
It is within everything,
Yet it is beyond all things.
It is the source of all time,
But it is not time.

O (name),
Meditate now on the gateless gate.
Things are not as they seem;
Nor are they otherwise.
Know in your heart that all things are real illusions.
False truths.
Present,
But not existing anywhere.
Surpass your rational mind to realize the void which is not a void,
And liberation is assured.

out to embrace the random, reaching out to embrace whatever may come. I
embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step
aside and weep like a widow, to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to
witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of
our own divinity and still be a human."
