FYI, there is software out that combats those no(i)sy ads all but advertisers despise. Of several, I have tried:
www.panicware.com a source for Pop-Up Stopper. Once installed you will occasionally have to
hold down the shift key to get a page to come up, but it becomes much more convenient than
all those darn ads. :) A sound signifies when it has not loaded a page because it thinks it's an ad.
  It is pretty configurable and I tried using it then not using it. I went back to using it. =)
oh and...there is a freeware version of it.

  If you think that it is going too far.. all this forcefull ad/money

  would it not be a good idea that you as a site-owner express the wish
  of having it stopped, to the 'top people' ?! ..
  I know this net affair, is not a democracy, but even so ..
