Hello Dan,

The way I see it, life has no "meaning," but
each living thing has *value.*

Searching for meaning is purely an intellectual,
human exercise. We've been doing it for thousands
for years and there's no end in sight.

When a persons says that life has meaning, it
immediately begs the questions, "ok, then tell me,
*what* does it mean?" A religious person would
take out a book, flip a few pages, tie some
phrases together and bellow, "God says if you
believe yada yada and do yada yada you will
go to heaven," and smugly put the book away.

But that still leaves the question unanswered, and
if pressed further, a religionist would just say, "don't
ask! that's not for us to know."

Meaning implies a translation, like kanichen in German
*means* rabbit in English. It's seems we long for a
second, yet unspoken, mysterious language to pin
down and validate our grand assumptions. You could
ask "what does birth and death mean.... what does
a tree mean?" then consult the Magic Meaning Oracle
and poof!!! the answer arrives.

Well.... it looked good on paper.

I've done a lot of stuff.

Prayed to Jesus.
Sat with Buddha.
Circled with Astarte.

Dropped acid.
Dropped my trousers and
Dropped everything.

I dressed back up to work in
time, looking for reasons
in this rhyme.

I drove my car from near to
far.... even looked inside the
cookie jar.

As the last crumb
My hands were cleaning...
My mind can rest!
Life has no meaning!!!!!
