On 2002/01/10 09:19, L. J. Klinsky posted thus to the K-list: "A lot of certain religions are poked at with a righteous stick
because
many of its members are ignorant, or believe in a wildly oppressive
lifestyle, or don't really care and use their supposed religion to
flaunt-"Look at the cool new religion I found! What would Zeus do?"
It's
easy to fall into that pouty/angry, "My beliefs are solid and serious
and
dammit, nobody pays me any special attention!""
People critters want to think they have the key, the clue, the method,
the Truth. The Truth to an ego lies in direct proportion to
confirmation from the outside. So egos find other egos to confirm the
Truth, as if that'll make it stronger somehow. Confirmation satiates
the ego, temporarily, anyway, until the Darkness eats the satiation
away. Fun stuff! Nothing is, what is not.
"My latest saying, the one I've been employing in my passive pursuit
to
enlightenment, is "Fuck it." Its meaning to me is different, of
course,
from the literal. I don't mean to express a negative attitude by
saying
it, or that I'm going to fornicate with the situation, but to remind
myself not to affirm or deny but to find the space between that is
neither. I'm trying to wear away the stone and turn it to water.
Everything fixed in my mind before will become fluid.
Something bad happens? Fuck it. Something good happens? Fuck it. What
do
I like? Fuck it. What don't I like? Fuck it."
That's the way to go, brother. We've got a choice, freak or fuck it.
Fuck it sounds and feels better.
"We're all humanimals, and we all spring from the same basic source if
you
follow a backward gaze. We all have no idea why anything at all
exists."
Amen! We try to convince ourselves, though, that our Truth is It. It's
a better feeling when we truly believe we know something is real.
Otherwise, the feeling of nothingness seems pointless and the abyss
eats us for dinner. For instance, I've been reading a bunch of
supposedly channeled discourses, all from the same enlightened being,
as channeled from people in different locations and different walks of
life. The messages are completely different when told through each.
How can that be if the same being is speaking through each individual?
Maybe the whole trick is to realize that absolutely nothing is real,
period. Nothingmess is the only constant that my small mind can
fathom.
"Most of us are very, very confused. The only thing to seperate us is
how
we deal with that confusion."
Pretty words. Darkness at its best.
"Compensate and be limited. Grind it down
over time and have a wider range of movement."
Live in that "reality" for a while and then grind it down again, over
and over.
"what is sketchy to ME as an individual is any kind of attempt
to convert a person in an intervention-like environment simply because
the converter needs to feel good about themselves. Like some kind of
spiritual savior."
It's what I said before, I think... Since *reality* is only sketchy at
best, and flighty at least, it takes confirmation from the outside to
make it real to the ego that resides.
That's the belief of a pebble of flesh, anyway...a pebble with this
strange, quite possibly false sense of uniqueness...
I hear ya, brother. I'm there...
