This is a very hotly debated topic with good arguments on both sides so I'll
stick only to what I've seen personally. I've never tried the SSRI's myself
but I have used St. John's Wort with excellent results for post-menopausal
mood swings. I've not noticed any interference with K-related stuff at all.
My clients (I'm a psychologist) who have tried SSRI's have been mostly
pleased, with a few folks regretting the loss of the intense emotionality
they once had. Those on a spiritual path reported that anti-depressants were
a godsend (maybe literally) because they now had a floor underneath them
instead of an abyss. You can't deal with emotional issues if you are
drowning and Kundalini will bring up all the emotional issues you have got.
In my experience, deep spiritual changes have "happened" outside of time,
outside of control, and certainly outside of my comprehension. I'll wake up
one day and notice that another big chunk of my self (small s) is simply
gone. A healthy body makes it easier to notice change, to serve and enjoy
the world, but if God wants to wake up and become manifest in a body on
heroin or chemotherapy or prozac or ritalin or
sugar or ripple, it is certainly within Her power to do so! Holly
