Subject: [K-list] is God in the details?

It's funny, because I have never had the experience of having my fundamental
belief that God exists truly challenged. I remember watching a Woody Allen
movie where he (Woody) learns he has a brain tumor and he just about goes
berserk trying to convince himself that there's an afterlife. He looks at
all the religions, trys converting to them all...At the time, watching it, I
thought to myself, what in the world is his problem? Why is he so
frightened that God does not exist?
Scientific evidence that we are hardwired to experience NDEs doesn't negate
the possibility (and to me, the likelihood) that NDEs are real, and that
they are created by a divine force. Scientists who push the frontiers of
their fields often become mystics, and the fact that science has
explainations for why we experience mystical experiences doesn't preclude
the possibility that science is only seeing a manifestation of part of a
process. The brain reactions don't really "explain" anything.
Just my two cents, and possibly not even worth that. We're all just feeling
around in the dark.
Ignorant, but blissful,
Elizabeth
