:) Paul, my goodness, you're on to something!

In my previous incarnation as an architect, one that did adaptive
reuse work, I had to climb around in many old, dilapidated and
seriously foul buildings. The phrase 'the smell of one bird crapping'
reminds me of rooms full of pigeon poop. Did you know that pigeons
can apparently poop sideways? It must be some sort of projectile
pooping... that is my only explanation for how pigeon poop got on the
walls.

I am so grateful that I don't need to do that anymore. At first it
was fine, traipsing through those buildings, working in the dark,
touching all that CRAP (and mold and mildew)... and some of the
artifacts I found were interesting... but after a while my lungs,
sinuses, skin, etc. began to express some extreme allergic reactions.
Not to mention that I was getting very tired being in those spaces...
too much residue of many sorts.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH... no more of that.

Another crapping bird story:

When I was a child, my mother went through a 'pet' phase. We at one
time lived with a guinea pig, a hamster, 3 dogs, 4 birds, hundreds
(of thousands.. hehe) of fish. This on top of me, my brother, and
her. (I think my dad was stationed overseas for part of the time.)

The story concerns one of these birds.

My mother has always had a 'soft spot' for runts and underdogs. The
day she went to pick out two parakeets, she noticed a small bird on
the floor of the birdcage. This tiny bird was covered in bird poop
and had no feathers on its head. So, my mother came home with three
birds that day.

Ever seen a tiny bald parakeet? Curious sight...

have a good day,
Nina
