Melanie -- I'm glad you're all right! The whole set of questions "is it this
or is it that?, is it me or is it God?, is it physical (psychological,
emotional) or is it spiritual?" eventually melts into a nothingness of
irrelevance after awhile because the answer is always yes. Spiritual
emergence can have strange, amazing and even dangerous effects on the body
that should definitely be checked out by health practitioners, if
threatening. Spiritual energy has intense effects on the hormonal and immune
systems, just to name two. Since awakening, I've landed in the hospital
twice with abdominal bleeding. Over time, with adjustments in lifestyle,
diet and so forth, many of the problems abate. But sometimes they don't.
Spiritual awakening does not necessarily perfect the body and personality.
Everything that happens in life is "spiritual" and, as such, cannot always be
controlled by the human part of us, no matter how much we meditate,
visualize, eat vegetables or pray. I believe we're taught to take care of
our bodies as best we can because they house the great gift of spirit taking
form in this unique way -- but the rest is up to Spirit Itself. Love, Holly
