I was inspired to finally write after reading Jack's post today. I joined
this group a few weeks ago but have only been reading what others have been
posting until now.
I had the beginnings of my awakening in college (sophmore year), when I
would have what felt like cataclysmic surges of energy that would rise up my
spine almost every time I got in bed to go to sleep. At first these surges
were extremely painful, but over the course of several years they became
pleasurable, and I noticed that the energy would rachet up a few notches in
vibration every few months or so, as I would become accustomed to a given
level.
I started having OBEs my senior year of college, and my heart chakra became
increasingly sensitive (I would cry and feel intense love for people and
situations--sometimes it was really silly, like over a commercial I saw on
telelvision about a mother and her baby).
I had always been aware of my third eye since I was a little girl. Once, on
a schoolbus, a kid showed me a neat trick, how if I pointed a pencil at the
center of my forehead, I could actually "feel" the pencil on my skin even
though it wasn't touching me. After that I was always able to feel that
spot in the center of my forehead, and it became more intense during
college.
During college, I started to have a lot of health problems. I started to
experience terrible muscle spasms in my neck, upper back, and shoulders. I
also began to have extreme fatigue, sometimes sleeping up to 15 hours a day.
After college, the energy stuff continued for a couple of years, but it
decreased quite a bit in my late 20s. The only new development was that
when I would meditate I would sometimes see a bright light inside my head,
and when I opened my eyes there were little particles swirling in front of
my eyes. Over time I started to see those little particles all the time,
moving in the air like plasma. I could also see them interacting with the
energy fields around people and plants (especially trees, for some
reason--maybe because they are often sillouetted against the sky and the sky
is a particularly good background for viewing these energy particles).
I am now 34. Most recently I started to feel some energy surges while
driving in the car, and it was really weird because these surges were
definitely sexual in nature. They seemed to originate from my root chakra
and go up my spine, maybe as far as my solar plexus. At first I thought
maybe it was the vibrations of the car, but hey I've been driving for years,
and I've NEVER had that kind of experience before. (If I had, I probably
would have gotten a job driving a cab or something, because the vibrations
felt pretty great.)
Around the same period of time I started to experience a constant sensation
of pressure at my throat. At first I thought maybe this was in response to
a man I visit who has a tracheotomy (I am a hospice volunteer) but now I
have come to think that it is my throat chakra.
After these vibrations started, I serendipitously came upon a Reiki Master
and have started getting some Reiki work done. This has been incredibly
helpful to me from a health perspective (I have continued for many years to
have the neck and upper back pain). I have come to realize that my throat
chakra and all the pain in my neck and back are all related. I have also
experienced an increased awareness of my third eye chakra, with a pulsing
sensation going on there that reminded me of Jack's description.
Another consequence of the Reiki work is that I have become more aware of my
own energy field and some of the karmic reasons why I chose my family to be
born into and why I am drawn to hospice work.
Anyway, I know my post is not as cosmically conscious as some of the other
members of the board. I think this is why I have been hesitant to post, but
I finally decided that it was time to be a part of the conversation.
I'm wondering if any of my experiences are ones that others can relate to.
