Speaking of myself, in the last year I have been keeping my hair cut
off my collar and off my ears. It hasn't made any difference.

Witches kept their hair long as a source of power.

Babji, the immortal boy guru, instructed to cut the hair every 6
years or so to clear away the accumulated karma in the hair.

Remember the story of Samson and Delilah in the Bible? Samson had the
strength of many men till Delilah cut his hair off while he slept and
he lost his strength.
