From:
On 2001/11/13 15:10, posted thus to the K-list: Dear Susan,
I'm a musician/studio music teacher - ages from 7+
individual lessons mainly. thinking back on what I've said to students -
( as it comes)
- reminders of the beauty of the world- little things - sunlight, rainbow,
bird, a rose in bud, dog wagging its tail- whatever springs up :)
(+ music!)
- affirming them for the who they are :)
- normalising - reinforcement of constants- things that are the same
- listening understanding
- logic - time - that was then this is now etc focus on the present
- statistics - little ones have little idea of the vastness of distance...
[it did not happen in your loungeroom! ( though it seemed to!) - ask them
the furthest away they've been and multiply !
- (with older ones) -the vast number of people in the world.... billions+
billions +billions... + how many did this? statistically miniscule! fact is
that billions+ billions + billions live together in peace and harmony yes?
YES!
- explaining mob psychology + fear mongering- even little ones can
understand that fear is catching - eg. ghost stories (they think they are
very clever not to fall for it!) :)
- the excitement of fear... now you know you're alive what will you do with
this energy?
- essentially - love
transmute fly ! :)
ramble y but if it helps :)
love,
Sylvia
