Absolutely not. Olive oil has no omega-3. Omega-6 is generally not a problem with deficiency as it
a stable molecule. Omega-3 however is extremely sensitive to light, air & heat. Not only is
the deficiency in omega-3 a huge problem in and of itself (only recently becoming known to mainstream)

but these 2 essential fats keep each other in check so the disbalance causes a host of problems.
Remember this: there's only 2 fats the human body needs from the diet. Omega 3 & 6. Almost
everything other than that is dead weight. Processed oils actually cause cell membranes in the body
to leak (good stuff gets out, bad stuff gets in!). Flaxseed oil is by far the best and most economical

source of omega-3. These fats are so important they are needed to produce & regulate short-lived
hormones called prostaglandins which regulate almost every bodily function. Fish oil capsules are
a great addition to flax oil because they contain EPA & DHA which are preformed fats higher up the
chain of conversion. There's several steps of conversion omega 3 & 6 go through in the body to
eventually become prostaglandins. This conversion process becomes compromised with normal aging,
inactivity, nutritional deficiencies (which are epidemic) and many other factors such as alcohol
abuse.
With fish oils you're only 1 chemical step away.

Here's 2 interviews that are very interesting and useful to listen to.
at http://www.lauralee.com/archives/index.htm (among many other cool topics)

Barry Sears: Zone Diet: Food as Medicine
 02/07/01
Biochemist and developer of the Zone Diet says food is our best medicine, and explains the
biochemical
cascade effect of the 40-30-30 Diet (40% Carb/30% Protein/30% Fat) to optimally regulate myriad
systems in
the body and mind, achieve and maintain ideal weight, avoid disease, and extend longevity and
wellness. Why
our ancestors naturally ate "in the Zone."

(I listened to this one and find it to be scientifically accurate and very useful)

Dr. Barry Sears - Longevity Strategies
 03/15/01
Biochemist describes the various classes of hormones that contribute to aging and how best to keep
them in
'the zone' of optimal functioning for maximum health and longevity through diet, exercise, and
meditation for
 stress reduction.

(I did not listen to this one)

Listen to those links. : )

Soy is not a good protein source anyway. It is very healthy for other reason tho
(i.e. isoflavones)

Keep a window open. Avoid sparks.

I hear you. But health is priceless. And disease is far more expensive.

You're way ahead of your doctor & nutritionist. I know what nutritionists are taught
because I almost became one. But some transcend the brainwashing. Perhaps you could find one?

The key to successful exercise is to vary it with different things that are fun and don't kill
yourself.
If it doesn't work I'll eat my hat.
