Money as a form of compensation, to me, reeks of the unreality of a
grossly-false physical plane and of a societal system that does not resonate
with my heart voice. Growing up I learned the hard way that money was the
god people prayed to more than anything, and it has been my life tendency to
be forced by circumstances to do what isn't in my heart to keep a roof over
my head... To me, therefore--and this is my opinion only--using money
(negative energy) to pay for spiritual enlightenment propagates the notion
that I passively agree to living someone else's idea of reality.

Wow, Leslee, I am really blown away that you actually have this viewpoint.
My first spiritual teacher came in the form of a boss I had. We actually
didn't get a lot of work done but rather spent lots of time talking about
spiritual matters. She really opened my eyes to a lot of things, one being
money.
Money is an energetic medium of exchange. It's not positive or negative. (In
fact the positive and negative polarity only exist in denser levels of
so-called reality.) You said you are for exchanging barter but not for
exchanging money. There's really no difference between the two other than
the value you are projecting. Money is pent up energy waiting to be
released. You've done some work and it's stored in this thing called
"money."
I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't want to barter everyone I
needed something from. I want a banana, I have to find some farmer in Hawaii
who wants to trade a web site. I want a house, I need to find a banker who
can use my marketing expertise for the next 30 years...We'd probably all
still be living in caves, eating roots and rabits.

But my heart cries out for another way. I do not believe in an existence
where there are haves and have-nots, for this only promulgates separation. I
would share all I have with all just because it feels pretty, but I'm sure
this would be dangerous when others don't share my sentiments.

You'd better believe that in this realm there are have and have-nots. There
are people with lots of money and those without any. I'm not going to get
into the whys or wring my hands because that is the way it is. It just is.
If you don't believe in this existence on earth, that might be why your
heart is crying. You are not facing what you see. See the ugliness and filth
around you. Love it, embrace it, make it part of you. That is when you can
really see beauty and love in life. It's not when you just look at the
pretty things. Anyone can see beauty in a picturesque mountain scene. How
about beauty in a broken down farming town?
I was in Las Vegas this past week, and let me tell you, you can see beauty
everywhere you look and at the same instance ugliness. Beautiful bright
lights circling with color and cheer. From a different view, the same lights
are ugly, attracting people to gamble and drink.
All depends upon your perception. When you can accept that you find some
things ugly and embrace them anyway, well, then you can find...I don't even
know the word...maybe it's an awareness that opens your heart to all that
is.
