Getting the archives up has been on my mind for so long, it felt really
good to finally have them accessible! Not done with it yet, of course..
there are still the 1996 archives by frans to put back up, and the search
engine.. I have expanded my server space and am uploading the July-Dec 1999
archives as I write this. 20mb worth! I have decided not to add the year
2000 archives at this time, (31mb) as they are already hosted by
yahoogroups.. although the yahoo list search engine will only go back 6
months or so. Possibly in Jan I will add the 2000, 2001 archives.
Doing the archives was a change of pace I needed from getting kind of
bogged down in a massive redesign of domin8rex.com.. and I have also ended
up moving fire-serpent.com to another server... web mistress' work is never
done!
Next up after that, will be an ambitious, long overdue update of the
K-list site itself.
Toward that end, I am asking members for content! I host and
administer the Kundalini-gateway.org, but to my mind it belongs to the
members, just as the list belongs to the members. It belongs to all of you,
and I would like to hear all your suggestions of how the site can be made
to better serve and reflect the community it represents.
Of course, I have spent a lot of time thinking about this, myself..
and here are my thoughts.
There are several sections on the existing site that have never been
fully utilized, such as the poetry, meditation and member essay sections.
If anyone has stuff to offer, please send it on!! You can send it to me
directly, post it to the list or upload it to the shared files and let me
know about it.
I also want to expand the awakening stories section, and create a new
section to hold the results of all of your fascinating polls!! They are so
useful to people seeking to know more about the range and variety of the
awakening experience.
There is also room for inspirational art.. an idea I had a few years
ago but never completed on. I have agreements from a few people like Sharon
Webb (creator of the chakra image that adorns the front page) to add their
art to a K-gallery, and I am looking for more!!
There is also a question of what to do with the faces gallery. When the
gallery was originally set up, it was with the intention that it was for
members only.. net security was a concern, and some members did not want
their faces and names available to the public. Since then, the url of the
page has been mentioned many times in the archives, and the new archives at
fire-serpent.com and the yahoogroups archive are both public. How private
the page really is, is open to question. How private is anything on the
web, really??
So, I have to do a juggling act and update the page, while still
keeping the agreement with the original contributors to keep their faces
private. It seems like it might be best to delete some of the pictures of
members who have moved on, and ask permission from the rest, to open the
page to the public.. and add new pics!! The list has more than tripled in
size, since the faces page was originally put up. I would love to see more
of you represented.
The other option, is to completely redo the faces page to be a link
page to the yahoo profiles of members. My least favorite option.. but at
least members would be easily able to make changes to their own listings,
as they please.
The cybrary has not been updated in a few years, and I am not sure when
the links page was updated last.. so I am looking for contributions from
members to add to those sections as well. What music and books, films have
you found to be most inspirational to your process?
Many members like Jacques and Jose have created K-sites, and I want to
make sure I add them all! If you have a K-site, please let me know where it
is.with a brief description so it can be added.
Members who have personal pages, please send the URL along with your
picture.. and anything else you would like to say about yourself so member
sites can be added to the faces page.
On that related topic... please link to the K-list site. Even though it
has been at www.list-server.net/kundalini for many years, the net is a fast
changing place and so some time ago I got a domain name for the site, so
that if list-server.net folds, the links will not be lost. The domain is
listed at the bottom of every post. Please, help people who may need what
we have to offer, to find us by adding www.kundalini-gateway.org to your
links page! Many thanks, to those who already did.
I also want to put up a section of advice for the awakened. How to
handle anything from blowing light bulbs and getting overloaded, to
relationships. I am really not quite sure how this section will look or be
organized... I just think it would be a good idea and I am open to
suggestions. Similarly, a section of synchronicity stories and K.
experiences might be very useful to people.
I have gotten a lot of feedback over the years, of how valuable the
K-list site has been to those seeking to understand their process. I
cherish these comments, and am motivated to make the kundalini gateway even
better. For that, I need the members to help! Please contribute your
experiences, art, links, thoughts and wisdom. Blessings!
