I was bothered by his post -- both re its limited/narrow perspective
and also its inaccuracies -- but decided it wasn't worth the time
and energy to respond . . . but then I read a marvelous review
and sidebar in today's LA Times on the subject

and decided to share just a few thoughts.

The White House staff person who was detained
had the same **name** as a known terrorist.
This point was brought out in an early scene.
Perhaps O'Clery missed that data item.
His detention wasn't based on his *appearance*.

The plot device allowed for regular character Leo [John Spencer]
to offer him an apology after the misidentification was cleared up,
something his character does not, as a rule, do . . .
as well as some marvelously insightful dialog
re what "Arab-looking" people are faced with these days.

The various pronouncements made by White House staff
were each in character.
The statements were not "of a piece" but were portraying
their own personal points of view, in character.

There's more but I have more important things to do this morning.
