Oh I don't know - I thought all in all for a popular fictional TV show it did
a decent job, and what's more, it attempted to tackle the subject and get it
on air quickly in the interest of fostering a greater dialogue. I saw a lot
of different points of view represented - in fairly harmonious dialogue with
each other.

It pointed out that minorities in the US are victims of similar economic
injustices and conditions as are fostered abroad. It brought up Timothy
McVeigh and America's won home grown disaffected terrorists. It pointed out
that pride in culture, and group, and a sense of belonging (gangs, "freedom
fighters") in the face of being excluded from the a lopsided power dialogue
could be a strong motivator, rather than the simplistic rhetoric of - "they
hate us because we're virtuous." The young muslim (he was quite explicitly
muslim and not mearly "swarthy") brought up many many great points - his
right to protest the US military presence in Saudi Arabia and propping up
that corrupt regime.

The showing of films and punching was the counter to bombing or the death
penalty - which in terms of midlle of the road American discourse - is
pretty radical peacenicky.

It was a little chaotic and thrown together, and yes it was till over the top
with the rah rah americana stuff - and I agree with the Ishmael and Isaac
analogy being misleading and heavy handed - but I actually thought it was all
in all OK. I mean this is MIDDLE America fair.

They said all profits were going to charity. All in all unusual and worthy of
some achnowledgement.

(Goebbels?!? I probably wouldn't have responded had you not gone over the top
with that one.)
