Aarrrrrroooooooooo... K. rides with the tides and surges with the
seasons. Getting familiar with the Wiccan wheel of the year can be useful
for charting your course, because the wheel is based on how western
european humans respond emotionally to the planet spinning round the sun.
Even for those who have moved to the southern hemisphere, the pattern is
still in the blood... the DNA.
August is usually intense for me. I call it my annual august insanity.
It was pretty quiet this year. Sign of progress, I guess. Made up for it in
Sept.
Now we are coming up to the festival of Samhain, or Hallow'een, All
Souls Eve, or the Day of the Dead for some of you non pagans. For some
pagans it represents the end of the agricultural year, and the beginning of
the next. Ending time.
It is the closing of the harvest festivals, and the last thoughts on
the lesson of the harvest: life eats life, and that which dies so we may
live will be reborn through the Goddess in spring, with the turning of the
wheel. Leaves fall, animals hibernate, flowers die. Frost kills. Death is
the theme. Along with this theme is a thinning of the veil between life and
death, and a celebration of the ancestors.

LOL!! Carl Jung defined the Shadow as "what we think we are not". To
become All that Is, you must embrace and love the Hitler and Ted Bundy
within, as well as the Buddha and the Christ. You do not have to act on it,
just to acknowledge that everything is an aspect of your greater Self. All
Goddess.

Surrender is not running away. Surrender is acceptance of what Is. If
you are All, then some part of you is flesh ripping demon... and so what?

Dec. 21st, the other Pagan new years. Winter solstice. The time of
sharp transition, the days begin to get longer but the coldest of winter is
yet to come. Usually a high energy time, I tend to hibernate in Jan..
crashing after.
