What is the difference between a dispassionate state and a state of
emotional numbness? For instance, the emotional numbness integral to
post-traumatic stress disorder?
Is the "desired" state of dispassionate existance really a means to
escape the intensity of "the real world" that is unbearable without
numbness?
Or, does a dip into dispassionate existance provide a springboard for
a return to the "passionate existance"... in that it may allow one to
gather resources and perspective in "dealing with" the "real world"?
Susan? Tony? Angelique? Anyone?
what serves,
Nina
